Searching for die-cuts in newspapers, calibrating by color lines or ordering paper templates by mail is a thing of the past. Today, all it takes is a few clicks and you’re done! A die-cut in the form of a PDF file is the way of sewing for the 21st century - convenient, fast and always at hand. And with WearMeUp.Club it’s a die-cut exactly to your measure!
What is a PDF die-cut?
It’s a digital file that contains all the elements of the die-cut for self-printing. You don’t need to draw or redraw anything - all you need is a printer, paper and scissors ✂️
At WearMeUp.Club, our blanks are automatically generated to the dimensions you specify and are available in three formats:
- A4 - the most convenient for home printing,
- A3 - for those who have access to a larger printer,
- Plotter - if you want a die-cut in one piece, ready without folding.
👉 You can download one format of your choice or all three - the choice is yours.
How to print a PDF die-cut at home?
📌 1. make sure you print at 100% scale - this is very important! In the print options, select "actual size" or "no scaling".
📌 2 Check the test ruler - on the first page you will find a test square (for example, 5x5 cm). After printing, measure it with a ruler. If the size agrees - you are ready!
📌 3. print out all the pages and arrange them according to the numbering - the pages are labeled like a puzzle - e.g. A1, A2, B1, B2. Start from the upper left corner.
📌 4. trim the margins and glue with tape - some printers leave a white margin - trim it on one side to accurately join the sheets. Glue with tape - preferably transparent.
📌 5. cut out the elements of the pattern and transfer them to the fabric - and you’re done! Now you can move on to sewing 🎉
What if you have access to plotters?
You can immediately download the file in a large-format printing version (e.g. 90 cm wide) and print at a photocopy shop. Ideal when you want to save time and have the die-cut in one piece.
